A Date with Eva Braun (Gesundheit Blues)

A Date with Eva Braun (Gesundheit Blues) Video Clips. Duration : 3.35 Mins.

Eva Braun was trained and worked as a professional photographer before she met "Herr Wolff". At age 17 she took a job working for Heinrich Hoffmann, the official photographer for the Nazi Party. Initially employed as a shop assistant and sales clerk, she soon learned how to use a camera and develop photos. After meeting Hitler, he gave her a small portable 16mm Siemens cine-camera, which she used quite frequently to record their private moments. She left a significant amount of 16mm color films, which are quite homely and charming to watch. These were found in a US Army archive in 1972. Today, they supply documentary film makers with the best and most intimate film footage of Hitler and his henchmen. It's fun to watch her material alongside Leni Riefenstahl's bigger-than-life carefully edited Wagnerian styled epics. Private Hitler, the Austrian Kleinbürger, hardworking immigrant, looks like a peasant from the Alps in his private clothes. Adolf loved his dogs and was kind with children. Even tyrants have private lives and days off. Hitler liked dogs better than people. Maybe that's why Eva keeps kissing and cuddling them all the time? And Eva herself, the Aryan showcase; sweet, sometimes bored, playful, childish, hooked on swimming, gymnastics and ice skating. She's trying to do some Sonja Henie tricks on the ice here, rather clumsily. Eva loved outdoor life. She begged for a little tenderness and I could not help but give in. This edit is for her and all savage women ...
