The Beatles - Live Washington Coliseum 1964 (Washington DC) - 1080p

The Beatles - Live Washington Coliseum 1964 (Washington DC) - 1080p Video Clips. Duration : 38.28 Mins.

The Beatles traveled from New York to Washington, DC early on this day by rail, as an East Coast snowstorm had caused all flights to be cancelled. A special sleeper carriage was attached to the Congressman, the Pennsylvania Railroad express train. The carriage was called The King George, and was already full with press people by the time The Beatles boarded. Upon arrival at Washington's Union Station The Beatles were greeted by 2000 fans who braved the eight inches of snow on the ground. They gave a press conference before visiting WWDC, which had been the first US radio station to play a Beatles record. The group and their entourage checked in at the Shoreham Hotel, where they took the entire seventh floor to avoid fans. One family refused to be relocated so the hotel staff cut off the hot water, electricity and central heating, telling them there was a power failure and they had to move. The Beatles' concert that night was at the Washington Coliseum, a boxing arena. Upon their arrival at the venue the group held a press conference. Their first US concert was watched by a crowd of 8092 fans, most of whom were girls. The Beatles took to the stage at 8.31pm, and performed 12 songs: Roll Over Beethoven, From Me To You, I Saw Her Standing There, This Boy, All My Loving, I Wanna Be Your Man, Please Please Me, Till There Was You, She Loves You, I Want To Hold Your Hand, Twist And Shout and Long Tall Sally. The Beatles were performing in the round, and Ringo Starr's drum riser ...

The Beatles- If I Fell

The Beatles- If I Fell Video Clips. Duration : 2.40 Mins.

Definitely one of my favourite songs on A Hard Day's Night, with amazing harmonies from John and Paul, If I Fell. The song is notable for its unusual structure, which includes an unrepeated introductory section (introduced as an afterthought as of take 11) followed by sequential verse sections, each having a slightly expanded form, but with no obvious chorus or bridge section. [The Demo version (John and acoustic guitar) from early 1964 does include the introduction, as well as an alternate ending.] The song also features a two-part harmony, sung by Lennon and McCartney together into a single microphone at their suggestion, and intricate chord changes. The key changes from D flat major to D major between the introduction (a series of descending barre chords) and the main song, which uses mainly open chords, including an unusual D ninth. There is an alternate take of the song in which McCartney's voice strains and cracks at the end of a line, which first appeared on the Love Songs compilation double-LP, by an archivist's error when returning to the master tapes in Capitol's vault. Since then, this version has appeared in many places and is often heard on oldies stations in some markets. This version is the stereo version now found in The Capitol Albums box set. In the mono version, McCartney's voice strains, but does not crack. The stereo mix of the song (found on the Hard Day's Night LP and Something New) features a double-tracked opening by Lennon. "If I Fell" was a part ...

The Beatles - Twist and Shout (At Royal Variety Performance)

The Beatles - Twist and Shout (At Royal Variety Performance) Tube. Duration : 3.38 Mins.

8.00pm, Monday 4 November 1963 This was the night of The Beatles' famous appearance at the Royal Command Performance at the Prince of Wales Theatre in London, in the presence of the Queen Mother and Princess Margaret. By this point Beatlemania was an established phenomenon, with the group drawing huge and frenzied audiences across the country and beyond. Although they were seventh on the 19-act bill on this night, they were by far the most anticipated performers to appear. The Beatles began playing their opening song, From Me To You, before the curtains had opened. After the final chord John Lennon and Paul McCartney moved their microphone stands nearer the edge of the stage to get closer to the audience. The group bowed in unison at the end of the second song, She Loves You, after which McCartney made a nervous joke about Sophie Tucker being their "favourite American group". They followed this with a performance of Till There Was You. When the applause died down John and Paul moved their microphone stands back to their original positions, and Lennon made the announcement which won over any remaining doubters and guaranteed them headlines in all the next day's newspapers. - "For our last number I'd like to ask your help. The people in the cheaper seats clap your hands. And the rest of you, if you'd just rattle your jewellery. We'd like to sing a song called Twist And Shout." ___________________________________________________ La presentación de la Royal variety es un ...

The Beatles and Dusty Springfield: Interview / I'll Get You / She Loves You

The Beatles and Dusty Springfield: Interview / I'll Get You / She Loves You Video Clips. Duration : 8.80 Mins.

1963 www.amazon.com Watch more: lifeofthebeatles.blogspot.com After finishing school in 1958, Mary O'Brien responded to an advertisement to join The Lana Sisters, an "established sister act". With this vocal group, she developed the art of harmonising, learned microphone technique, recorded, did some television performances, and played at live shows in the UK and at US Air Force bases. In 1960, Springfield left the band and formed a pop-folk trio with her brother Dion O'Brien and Reshad Feild (who was later replaced by Mike Hurst). They chose The Springfields as the trio's name while rehearsing in a field in Somerset in the springtime, and took the stage names of Dusty, Tom, and Tim Springfield. Intending to make an authentic American album, the group travelled to Nashville, Tennessee, to record the album Folk Songs from the Hills. The American pop tunes that she heard during this visit helped turn Springfield's choice of music from folk and country towards pop music rooted in rhythm and blues. The band was voted the "Top British Vocal Group" by the New Musical Express poll in 1961 and 1962. During the spring of 1963, the Springfields recorded their last British Top 5 hit, "Say I Won't Be There". Dusty Springfield left the band after their last concert in October 1963. Dusty Springfield's first single, "I Only Want to Be with You", written and arranged by Ivor Raymonde, was released in November 1963. It was produced by Johnny Franz in a manner similar to Phil Spector's ...

The Beatles Live At The Washington Coliseum 1964

The Beatles Live At The Washington Coliseum 1964 Tube. Duration : 38.05 Mins.

Their first US concert, in the Washington Coliseum, was watched by a crowd of 8092 fans, most of whom were girls. The Beatles were performing in the round, and Ringo Starr's drum riser was turned 180 degrees after the third song by Mal Evans, to allow the audience behind them to watch the performance. This was repeated again after I Wanna Be Your Man, and following She Loves You they turned 45 degrees. In addition to this somewhat awkward set-up, George Harrison's microphone wasn't working during the opening song, and he was given a faulty replacement. It didn't dampen the audience's appreciation, however; they responded with typical screams of Beatlemania, causing one of the 362 police officers present to block his ears with bullets.
