Recording drums is a complicated art form that takes and lot of different skills and equipment to pull off right. It starts with putting together the best equipment you can afford, practicing like hell and taking the time to learn how to do things right (drum tuning, microphone selection, mixing techniques etc...). I have been playing drums since I was a kid, but I have not owned a drum set since 1994. My playing isn't what it used to be... Equipment used for this recording... Drums Taye Pro X Series • 8", 10", 12" 14" & 16" Toms • 14"x5" Birch snare • 20" Kick Drum Heads: • Toms - Remo Emperor Coated on top, original Taye clear heads on bottom • Snare - Remo Ambassador Coated on top, Evans Hazy on bottom • Kick -- Evans EMAD on batter side, Taye original on resonant side (15"x10"x1" egg crate foam in the kick drum) Dampening: Moon Gels Hi Hats: • Refurbished Sabian B8 crash on top • Refurbished Paiste 505 hi hat bottom on bottom Ride Cymbals: • 20" Canadian made Zildjian (no model listed) • 22" Canadian made Zildjian (no model listed) Crash Cymbals: • Refurbished Sabian 19" AAX Metal Crash • Refurbished Sabian 18" AAX Explosion Crash • 18" Pasha Crash • 14" Refurbished Sabian AA Medium Crash • 16" Homemade Ozone Style Crash ...
