How to make a cool pitch bend effect in Ableton Live

How to make a cool pitch bend effect in Ableton Live Video Clips. Duration : 3.10 Mins.

READ ME FIRST: After posting this I realized that there is a problem in doing the effect as I show in the video: All gets out of midi sync. This is EASY to fix. Follow these steps: 1. Do as I've done in the video 2. Press "Sync" on the grain delay and set the ms-parameter to 1.0ms - then you'll have no problems! Just sat and fooled around in Ableton and then I stumbled upon this trick - I find it very useful. Sorry bout the audio quality! plz rate 2:)

Ableton Live Tips #7: Vocal Effect Techniques (Radiohead, Nosaj Thing)

Ableton Live Tips #7: Vocal Effect Techniques (Radiohead, Nosaj Thing) Video Clips. Duration : 12.78 Mins.

Read more: bit.ly In this week's Ableton Live tutorial, Professor Nalepa demonstrates three (3) effect techniques for spicing up your vocals. Inspired by the field trip his Advanced Tech class took this week to Low End Theory to catch a secret DJ set by Thom Yorke, he uses the lead vocal of Radiohead 'Reckoner' to demonstrate the first technique: reversing it, routing it out through reverb, resampling the reverb, reversing the resampled reverb and laying that back underneath the original forward vocal to get a haunting, ghostly premonition-style effect used in a lot of popular dance tracks. He also deconstructs tracks from his friend Nosaj Thing and former students It's Not Over Quebec, showing how they utilized sidechain compression and sidechain gating to achieve impressive results. Nosaj Thing released his debut album Drift and the follow up Drift Remixes on Alpha Pup Records. He is currently putting the finishing toucheson his second album and will be playing an audiovisual set at Coachella on Friday (April 15th) this year. Here is a free download of "Coat of Arms", the song used in this example.

Ableton Live Tutorial How to use Logic Pro Mainstage as a plugin via Soundflower

Ableton Live Tutorial How to use Logic Pro Mainstage as a plugin via Soundflower Tube. Duration : 6.55 Mins.

Watch in HD! I couldn't pass up educational pricing on Logic Studio, so I found a way to use Logic's soft synths inside of Ableton Live. The virtual MIDI ports in OS X provide MIDI communication, and Cycling 74's Soundflower utility provides the way to route audio between Mainstage and Live (since they don't like to play together with rewire). I aggregated all my audio devices into one so that I could use my microphone and soundflower at the same time. You don't have to get that fancy if you just want to route audio from logic to live. remember to set the buffer size in soundflower to be as low as you can without breaking up in order to minimize latency. The audio is a little funky due to some experiments with compressors and audio rates.
