Testing Yamaha DD 65 digital drums covering Norwegian rock band 'Big Bang' and the song 'To the mountains'. Its been a while since I played drums and I struggle a bit keeping a steady rhythm.. I have connected the DD65 to a pc with EZ drums installed.(midi connection) I also configured the TOM-1 pad as open hi-hat and the hi-hat floor pad as a second bass-drum. Re assigning the pads was very easy to do.The drum sound from the DD is quite good but i recorded the sound from the Ez drums on this video. PC sound card: TerraTech phase 22 pci - compatible with any low latency audio standard. Guitar sound from Line 6 spider 3 set to green crunch and medium drive. Recorded and mixed in cakewalk 9. Behringer B2 pro microphone. My conclusion is that the DD is worth every penny.. It feels easy to play even with those small pads. If playing with the fingers the dd has a special setting for that too. The only thing i didnt like was the foot pedals. I had to use one of my pearl drum-pedals to hit the bass-drum pad. It was hard to get the drumming accurate stepping on the pad, but the pearl rig solved it .

Inside a Yamaha YPG-525 & LCD and Dead Key REPAIR - pt1
Inside a Yamaha YPG-525 & LCD and Dead Key REPAIR - pt1 Tube. Duration : 9.28 Mins.
Taking a look inside of a Yamaha YPG-525 Digital Piano. The LCD Screen on this keyboard has lines, shows only half screen, and or flickers. I wanted to take a look inside to see what the problem could be. 1) I removed all screws from the bottom of the keyboard (remove EVERY screw that you see) 2) For the Dead Key Repair.. I simply unscrewed the set of keys that went a long with the key that was giving me problem. I made a couple adjustments... mainly an adjustment to the key to be sure that it was seated properly. This solved the problem for both keys. *** (Do not make the mistake of cleaning the WHITE Slimy stuff away from the bottom of the key - THIS IS NEEDED this is what prevents your keyboard keys from sticking and being loose. 3) The LCD Screen was very easy to get to.. Part # 221 - 3093 - 0032 I will be giving YAMAHA a call concerning a Replacement LCD for this keyboard. While Browsing the web.. I have noticed that there are many people with this same problem on this and similar Yamaha Keyboards. I really wish Yamaha would stand behind there name and issue a RECALL on this board and LCD.\ ------------------------------------------------------ This is what I have found out so far.. by performing a web search concerning a solution for this problem... www.yamaha-keyboard-guide.com yamaha ypg-525, DGX630, MM6, MM8 blank screen by: Rafaelias Today I have received this info from Mr. Harvey Casey: Part Number: WN744800 LCD UNIT 221- 3093- 0933 Cost: 183.74 You can order ...

Electronic music setup in December 1997; Yamaha TQ5, Boss Dr550, Freebass 383, Marshall Guv'nor
Electronic music setup in December 1997; Yamaha TQ5, Boss Dr550, Freebass 383, Marshall Guv'nor Video Clips. Duration : 3.08 Mins.
My gear at home in 1997. A Yamaha TQ5 is the master sequencer and sound source and goes direct in stereo into the Tandy mixer. The TQ5 provides midi clock and sync out to a Boss Dr550 drum machine, which is in pattern play mode (so I change the patterns manually using the keypad) and is running into the Yamaha REX-50 which is set on a compression patch; this then runs in stereo into the Tandy mixer. The TQ5 is also providing midi-note information on channel 1 to the Freebass FB383 which is an analogue 303 synth clone. This is running into a Boss DM3 analogue delay pedal (with the pedal removed for easier access to the switch) and then into a Marshall Guv'nor, running in mono into the mixer on a mic channel. This is the setup that was used to record the "Live" LP at Turan Audio in Oxford. The songs were played live into Pro Tools. This recording was made with a Sony TR680E 8mm camcorder, with the headphone output of the mixer running into the microphone socket, so there is some compression from the mic circuit. The song that is playing is an early version of the track "Goal!" which was inspired by the Nightshift columnist Dr Shotover, who claimed that I had written a song called this. So I decided to do it. The finished version is in a collection of "rarities" songs which I haven't released yet and am deciding what to do with - the Youtube video "Purity" is also in this collection.
